FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about TAD 31

  • Does it ride better than others?

For sure it does!

The design is a fine equilibrium as it is for any boat. Comfort and dry navigation are on top of design requirements. This leads to a nice V shaped hull with big chine to avoid spray and increase planning performances.

How can I get one?

  • Where is it manufactured?

TAD is made on west coast of France, taking advantage of nautical industry suppliers and know how.

  • How big is it?

For those who are used to ride RIB, there is a huge difference in terms of available space to carry toys and supplies. We have been used to fill it with two full shopping trolley and two adults and luckily, there were still enough space for our two kids!

The 10+ feet/3.1m dinghy has more space than a 3,5m RIB for only 45kg.

  • Does it float?

The tender has 320 liters of buoyancy inside the hull shared between closed hollow area and foam. On top of this the fender around the boat gives significant extra buoyancy. The TAD 31 is unsinkable.

  • How stable is the tender?

The tender is stable thanks to the chime and hull design. The balance with navigation comfort leads to initial instability when not loaded, just before leaning on the chime. It is similar to what you can feel on deep V RIB but you will safely step on a rigid surface instead of a deflated tube.

It is a wide rigid boat that brings very comfortable stability and safety.

  • What motor is best?

Your current short shaft motor is the best.
